New snowfall at base 28cm
Snowfall at base this season 125cm
Posted on Sunday 5th January 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.
The good news on this Sunday morning is that we have signed off on a nice new delivery of fresh snow.
Good proper, decent snowfall. The kind we like to see.
Kumanoyu were reporting 20cm of fresh a few hours ago; Yakebitaiyama are reporting up to 30cm of fresh snow in places. I have even heard '50cm' being said by someone, though that particular person has been known to... exaggerate! Wind is certainly blowing the snow around and so there will be more in some areas than others.
Bottom line - a good amount of new snowfall. :)
The downside is that wind might affect some lifts this morning and visibility is certainly low and really poor in places. Stormy conditions.
Once it clears, things should be set up for a fantastic day tomorrow.
