Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 14cm
Snowfall at base this season 97cm

Posted on Saturday 4th January 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Morning all.

Decent amount of snowfall to report this morning with resort areas reporting between 10cm and 20cm. I have measured and can report 14cm. That will certainly have made conditions good this morning.

Good to see snow down to the Yamanouchi town base area and in the valley too.

Light snow is forecast on and off during the day today, with the potential of decent snowfall overnight again tonight.

All areas now either part open, mostly open or fully open (Kumanoyu, Ichinose Diamond, Ichinose Yamanokami, Tannenomori, Takamagahara Mammoth).
