Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 6cm
Snowfall at base this season 238cm

Posted on Sunday 8th January 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

After a fine day during the day yesterday with some rather mild conditions, it was back to snow overnight. The ski area this morning is reporting 15cm on the upper areas (and 5cm down around base).

Today we might get some light snow and we might get some sun, and some more snow overnight.

There's night skiing again tonight until 8:00pm at Nagasaka and remember that tomorrow is a national holiday in Japan so it will be busier than a normal Monday.

Looking ahead at various forecasts, it appears there's going to be a bit of all sorts going on, mild conditions might be more prominent; especially towards the end of the week. Not too much, please!
