Good morning from Nozawa. It's a very pleasingly cold, wintery and snowy Saturday morning!
Yesterday in the afternoon the ski area was reporting 4-14cm of new snowfall on the upper areas of the mountain and this morning there's another 10-20cm. Visibility is limited, particularly higher up, at the start of the day, but there's a lot of people around eager to get up there to enjoy the good conditions.
If forecasts are right, we might get some clearer skies later in the day.
Early March visitors probably feel like they are being rewarded for their decision to visit at this time. (Very pleased for you!)
There's a festival type event thingy ('Winter Lantern Festival') going on over at the Nagasaka area this evening at 7pm. Should be fun.
Fresh snowfall since yesterday morning (reported by the ski area):
Yamabiko: 29cm (14cm + 15cm)
Uenotaira: 24cm (4cm + 20cm)
Hikage: 10cm

Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):
