New snowfall at base 40cm
Snowfall at base this season 436cm
Posted on Saturday 28th January 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.
Good snowfall again overnight and a lot of people lining up eager go get on the gondola at the start of the day.
The ski area is reporting 50cm of snow on the upper areas and 35-45cm around base areas.
Lots of beautiful fresh snow - conditions should be deep and a lot of fun this morning.
Visibility looks limited on the mountain and we are expecting more snow.
It remains cold.
Good times. Remember, take care out there.
(Yesterday, the ski area appeared to update their morning snowfall numbers after they originally posted them. I'm really not sure what was going on there, but will keep my beady eye on it and try to work it out. Naski is probably busy for the weekend and famously doesn't over-read the numbers. Sensible vegetable).
