Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 53cm
Snowfall at base this season 205cm

Posted on Wednesday 27th December 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

It is a fantastically snowy morning in Nozawa.

True Nozawa style.

The resort has reported over 50cm of fresh snow over the entire mountain since yesterday with closing in on 70cm up at Yamabiko. Tons of snow.

It's still snowing and windy and should be through today and tomorrow. Visibility is limited and very poor in places. Be excited, but always be careful and know where you are going. There's more than enough fresh snow to play in today.

If you want sunshine, maybe Sunday.

Excellent.

I'm off out there!
