Good morning from Nozawa.
Excellent news to report this morning. Very large amount of new snowfall. It might have taken time to get going, but overnight we got... a lot!
The ski area was reporting just 3-4cm of snow on the upper areas of the mountain yesterday afternoon. And this morning they have added a further 90cm! JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) are reporting 60cm over 24 hours, and I have measured 64cm.
The list of lifts and runs open remains unchanged at the beginning of the day, but this amount of snow will of course allow more of the mountain to open soon. That might happen today or it might be tomorrow.
Whatever, it's fantastic to get this snow. (And we should get a bit more during the day today).
Naski will be pleased.
