Greetings from Nozawa.


Down here in the village it looks foggy and we have a thick blanket of low cloud, but up on the top area of the mountain there's some blue sky and even some sunshine. But it looks like it should be a very fine morning to be out there skiing or snowboarding.


The ski area is reporting 17cm of snowfall on the top area and this morning another lift and a few more runs are opening up. See below.


There has been up to around 5cm of fresh snowfall around base areas.


Weekend weather is forecast to be a mix of cloud, light snow at times and clearer skies at times. It should be keeping fairly cold.


Fresh snowfall since yesterday morning (reported by the ski area):

Yamabiko: 17cm

Nagasaka Gondola (8:30am-3:30pm; last one down at 4:00pm)

Yamabiko D (1,250m)

Yamabiko B and E (with some restrictions)


Part of the upper mountain is now open. You need to get the Nagasaka gondola back down to base. All base areas are closed.
