Good morning from Nozawa.
A kind of curious 24 hours. We were expecting snow through the day yesterday but it actually ended up quite bright at times and overnight we didn't get quite as much snow as we were perhaps expecting. Upper areas have had a good 25-35cm (20cm of that up top overnight), very respectable of course, but not as much down in lower areas. The ski area is reporting around 10cm at Hikage and Nagasaka.
There is still quite a lot of snow on the forecast, particularly for Sunday through Monday. Hopefully that will bring us a lot of snow across the mountain.
Fresh snowfall recorded by the ski area (since early yesterday morning through 7:20am):
- Yamabiko (1615m): 35cm
- Uenotaira (1407m): 23cm
- Hikage (660m): 11cm
- Nagasaka (616m): 10cm
- Karasawa (563m): 5cm
Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):
- Yamabiko (1615m): 380cm
- Uenotaira (1407m): 335cm
- Hikage (660m): 290cm
- Nagasaka (616m): 285cm
- Karasawa (563m): 200cm
