Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 22cm
Snowfall at base this season 192cm

Posted on Saturday 13th January 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Here at base as of 8:15am, it is snowing, though just very lightly at the moment. Visibility looks much more limited up on the top Yamabiko area, where 30cm of fresh snowfall is being reported by the ski area.

My measurement from here at base is 22cm and it is currently about -1.6C.

More snow is due through the day today, particularly later on this afternoon. And then tomorrow, sun. And then on Monday, snow again.

I think it is going to be a very busy weekend.
