New snowfall at base 36cm
Snowfall at base this season 281cm
Posted on Wednesday 10th February 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.
Now this is more like what we expect here in Nozawa!
The resort has reported 40+cm on upper slopes and a good chunk of that down at base as well, and the snow continues to fall now as I write this report.
Yes!
Yamabiko also - at last - hitting the 2m mark for the official snow depth which is great to see (even though it should have been there come new year!)
So conditions this morning should be top rate even if visibility is limited out there. Things may clear to some degree later on with lighter snow forecast.
Tomorrow the forecast is for sunshine so an early start should make for an excellent day. Highly recommended if possible to get here for tomorrow rather than the weekend because unfortunately rain and warm temperatures are still probably going to be what's happening on Saturday.
Official snow depths:
Yamabiko: 200cm
Uenotaira: 160cm
Hikage: 100cm
Nagasaka: 100cm
Karasawa: 80cm
New snowfall as reported by the resort since yesterday:
Yamabiko: 42cm
Uenotaira: 40cm
Hikage: 35cm
Nagasaka: 37cm
Karasawa: 35cm
