Snowfall at base this season 933cm

Nice snow overnight, with some pretty strong winds overnight and at times this morning. Great snow, but be ready for some lift closures if it starts to blow again, and it looks like the wind will get increasingly strong midday.
Once again, too, if you're going backcountry, really think twice about heading into steep, open terrain. High winds and lots of snow are big red flags; we've had enough accidents this year! We want you safe, so pick gentle terrain in the trees if you do go out. And, frankly, a lot of you "I never ski groomed" folks could really work on your turns! Carving a perfect arc is right up there with overhead powder in the feels-good category.
The Yama no Kami mini-festival happens at the little shrine next to the Hotel No. 2 lift at 11 this morning. The hotel is giving away a whole bunch of wooden masu cups, with saké in it for the kampai! of course.
