Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 228cm

Posted on Saturday 9th January 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

That most welcome, wonderful, beautiful snow tapered off yesterday, but then started up again during the night.

The result was another 10-20 cm on the ground this morning. Yeah! It's looking more and more like the Myoko we know and love - although do note that it is still really low out in the backcountry! Watch for them bushes and grape vines, OK?

Still snowing, albeit lightly, and it looks likely to continue for the foreseeable future. Didn't think I'd be able to write that this year....
