New snowfall at base 30cm
Snowfall at base this season 218cm
Posted on Friday 8th January 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
Nice snowfall through the day yesterday, all the way down to the ocean.
We probably got 30cm or so at the base of Akakan, and it really looks nice to see things in white again. This also gives the ski areas a little breathing room, as things were getting pretty thin on the hills.
More snow is forecast for the rest of the day and on in through the weekend. Sorry to see the heavy snow previously forecast for the weekend being revised to moderate snow or snow showers, but let's just wait and see. These things do change a lot up in the mountains, right? And we're a lot more optimistic after this last snow.
