New snowfall at base 33cm
Snowfall at base this season 1090cm
Posted on Friday 7th February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
After the fun of yesterday (the usual excitements of snow country; I wasn’t alone in having the gas leak or get shut off), I thought it might be nice to sleep in at least a little bit.
A quick check around 4am showed that there wasn’t much snow falling.... and it is absolutely dumping at the moment. I’m giving you a mid-way snow depth figure, because it’s coming down in many centimeters per hour at this point. I see that the resorts, to, aren’t adding much to the snowpack numbers yet. Time to fire up those snow throwers and make life liveable! No rest for the plowman.... But it should be excellent for skiers!
If you’re going off-piste, though, really be careful and go in a group (with avalanche gear). The chances of sluffing—loose snow avalanches—is seriously high.
Update: seems not much of Lotte is open (due to wild conditions) and also hearing that the (train) station is closed.
