It looks like it wants to do something today; the clouds are high and it's bright, but those clouds are also dark...like the kind that could be carrying some snow with them. There is a band of white across the middle of the mountain, too, from the Kanko Hotel up to the top of the runs, something we often see (as if nature, the kami, your favorite deity was putting that snow there just for those who ski).
Oh, and speaking of kami, the local spirits, the Yami no Kami—mountain god—mini-festival will be this Saturday from 11 am. A simple ceremony, the local priestess playing the flute, and a kampai complete with wooden masu cups from the Akakura Kanko Hotel (200 masu are available!) that you can take home. I'll be there, in suit and boots....
