A sunny, beautiful day to follow the snow of the past few days. It's beginning to look a lot mor like Myoko these days; the roadside snow walls are growing, and the small trees are disappearing into the snowpack. And it's cold today, too--Suginohara's a bit at the extreme, but it was a pretty cold night.

After really light fun snow on the 3rd, we had very dense, wind-packed snow yesterday. Backcountry, it was dense enough that, even on the steepest slopes, it was almost impossible to do much more than slowly go straight down, maybe getting in one or two turns (narrow skis? Follow somebody else!). It should settle in now with some sun, and start the cycle over again. The ski areas, of course, are in great condition, and it's a beautiful day to get out and enjoy cruising around. Looks like some more fresh snow tomorrow, too.
