Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 21cm
Snowfall at base this season 1607cm

Posted on Thursday 24th February 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

An early start today, cause I'm heading for the resort.

A bit more snow overnight; it started up in the early hours and is coming down pretty heavily at the moment. Should taper off later. We hope (we need a break!). Warmer weather ahead, which will be helpful in settling the loose snow and clearing off overloaded roofs. There really are tons of snow just hanging up there waiting to come down. Which we can then plow up again. And again. And again.

Yeah, we need a break in the snowfall!
