Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 7cm
Snowfall at base this season 139cm
Posted on Monday 20th December 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
A late start. It's that time of year, is my excuse. The phone rings, it's not really the season yet (although there was some great snow at Akakan yesterday! Light powder for the opener! And it kept on snowing!).
But I'm glad, because the weather has changed a bit here. The sun is now poking out, it's a bit warmer than the past few days, and will rise tomorrow before snow (hopefully) returns on Wednesday. The forecast is really promising, though, with lots of cold and snow toward the weekend. No question about this being a white Christmas! And more good snow to enjoy....
