Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 36cm
Posted on Sunday 18th December 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
The weather information function of my car's navigation system kept reminding me that a heavy snow advisory is up for the 18th - that is, today - but the heavy stuff hasn't hit yet.
Only a couple of cms of the fresh stuff (that's generous; it looks like just 1cm. Generously 1+. Let's say 2). It is likely to pick up this evening, though; maybe we can get a few more lifts on a few more resorts going!
Still pre-Christmas, so as I often tell people, things aren't unusual yet. Unwhite Christmas = bad; unwhite Dec. 18 = normal.
