Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 9cm
Snowfall at base this season 172cm
Posted on Sunday 16th December 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
A nice day today, as more and more resorts begin opening up. And we have the snow, for now at least, with light snow on the forecast for most of the coming week.
The only kind of scary thing in the weather ahead is the freezing line (the point of 0°C) going up to 2600 meters on Friday, with rain possible even at the top of the hill. Let's hope this changes; mountain weather and all that, right?
The snow has stopped, but I'm adding the 9cm that didn't get into yesterday's report. So we're all caught up to date.
