New snowfall at base 35cm
Snowfall at base this season 163cm

Snow and snow and snow.
Things are looking really good (and being away from the house means concerns for those there who might not be able to get out... your reporter being the main snowthrower operator). Got some good info, though, so I'll share it with you. I'm being a little conservative on the snowfall; I'll confirm later with the snow boards and my ruler.
Akakan did in fact open today, with four lifts operating (no snow or temperature report, but that's OK for the first day).
More and more will opening from tomorrow, too, so things are looking actually very good (knowing that many years we just about get a white Christmas).
