I had to get out this morning to see the real snow conditions--because it was snowing good and hard--at Seki Onsen. An interesting place, and lots of fairly chewy, heavy powder. Pretty good wind through the day as well, which I think accounts for some of the weight; snow was packed in places.
We knew it was coming last night because we had some serious thunder and lightning--the sign of heavy snowfall. It aslo usually menas that the fall will be graupel, or soft hail, and that was definitely the case. The flakes got lighter and fluffier during the day, so a good reset on the hills for tomorrow. Maybe a little sun tomorrow (go for it, bluebird fans), before going back to snow (and the more the better, says I).
