It's probably no surprise to anyone anywhere in Japan that it's snowing; seems like the whole country is covered in white.
It is really starting to come down—and, as the SnowJapan forecast predicted, the winds are really picking up.
It's a good day to stay on the slopes, where it should be as snowy as out in the woods (and safer). With wind, heavy snow and slightly warmer weather, anyone going out in the backcountry may find themselves in snow heavy enough that they will be breaking trail down as well as up, except on the steepest slopes (been there, done that). So a good day for caution/restraint in the hills. It will be better as this settles.
Me? I dinged a knee, so I'm inside. Or throwing snow as rehabilitation. First time in nearly 20 years here.... wishing I was out there in the winds and deeps...ahhhhh.
