I come to you, humbly, apologetically.... OK, I missed yesterday's report--too many people to take care of, too much on his poor mind (oh, the life of a writer/skier). Anyway, it was a beautiful day yesterday, with the powder off piste slowly getting softer and heavier, but the gelende/piste/groomed runs very nice all day. Today is more bluebird, so it's going to be a better day for the piste than the hills (but it will be beautiful offpiste). We could use a good blast of fresh powder shortly, and looks like snow will be back i the coming days.
People are really churning up the backcountry, which is fine (I guess--it's not a competition, kids; savor the mountains and set aside the testosterone), but these cycles of sun could going to result in some weak layers in the snowpack. Talk to the locals; don't go where you don't know.
