Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 6cm
Snowfall at base this season 1283cm

Posted on Thursday 13th February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

What a night.... rain, lots of rain, mild temperatures, the the wind came in, the snow started to fall (heavily, again) and we're seeing a lot of lift closures already.

These cycles are getting pretty wild, not good for the resorts, not safe in the backcountry, etc.

The only good thing was the sun earlier yesterday and then the rain helped clear off all the overloaded roofs. Just in time for the next storm cycle to load everything up again (it's war, people, war with the snow).
