Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 741cm

Posted on Saturday 10th January 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

There's no place like home.... The snow began falling at around 7:30 this morning, and it's coming down really, really good (OK, not great grammar, but it just sounds right). Looks like there could be a pretty good accumulation by tonight; only 10cm or so right now, but it's starting to build up.

The reason for my wistfulness is that I'm actually in Niseko, where there's been some good snow, but nothing like the crazy snowfall we've had in Myoko this year - and nothing against Niseko, either!

Our information for today is guaranteed fresh, too, with the Myoko team dutifully reporting on the actual conditions on the ground. Which are: go out and ski today!

Not a lot of reports in this morning; I'll give you what I have, but the word is good across the area.
