Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 17cm
Snowfall at base this season 210cm

Posted on Friday 8th January 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Lots of snow being reported from the mountains this morning... Happo-one saying there's 35cm of fresh up on Kuroboshi. I'm confused with the numbers being reported by Happo-one from Usagidaira: 35+cm, says the official facebook page, but the official website shows just 12cm. Hmmm. Answers on a postcard please. Still, all good decent snowfall. I have learnt not to dwell on these things. Cortina is reporting over 30cm top to bottom.

There's a nice layer of snow down in the village too. It's a cold and snowy morning with wind blown snow in varying amounts everywhere you look.

We should be getting further snow through tomorrow with some chance of some sun peeking through starting from Sunday.

Should be excellent snow conditions out there.
