Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 308cm

Posted on Friday 26th January 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

After a cold, snowy and windy day on the mountain yesterday, it feels like it might be a clearer - and less windy - day today.

There's still a lot of cloud around, but there's blue sky too and some sunshine. I am hearing some very light snow and wind still noticeable in places too.

There's varying amounts of snowfall is being reported by ski areas as you can see below. Looks like we can expect up to around 15cm of fresh on the mountain.

Some sun is expected over the weekend.

It should be a very fine weekend. I hope some of you reading it can be here to enjoy it.
