New snowfall at base 17cm
Snowfall at base this season 253cm

Posted on Saturday 21st January 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

The snow is back!

Headlines for powder hunters:

Hakuba Cortina: 30-40cm base, 40-50cm top

Hakuba 47: over 30cm

Hakuba Goryu: 15-30cm

Hakuba Happo-one: 10cm

Nice!

There's just over 15cm on the ground in the village (and a bit more since I started putting the report together) and a very nice new covering of snow on the slopes. It should be an excellent morning. Watch out for wind though and poor visibility.

Looks like the upper lifts at Happo-one are suspended at the moment due to strong wind conditions up there. Hopefully they'll be able to re-open if and when the winds ease off.

Snowfall is forecast to stop by around lunchtime but be back tomorrow with snow clouds due over Hakuba through Tuesday.
