Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 263cm

Posted on Sunday 22nd January 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

I had an excellent day out on the slopes yesterday finding some great snow conditions and a few areas that were not as busy as you'd expect on a Saturday. Very nice. It was snowing really heavily at times as well so some fresh snow quickly filling in tracks. :)

Resorts aren't reporting any fresh snow numbers this morning which may seem odd when I report the 10cm of snow on the ground since my last report. But that's the deal! Let's blame the windy conditions.

This morning, we still have snow clouds hanging on and doing their thing and they are forecast to be with us for another few days. Some decent snowfall in there too, so I should be bringing you continuing good news over the next few reports. Skies should be clearing up around mid week.

In the meantime, a great time to be here. Time to strap on the skis!
