Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 81cm

Posted on Thursday 16th January 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning everyone.

Snow falling in the afternoon and evening yesterday - and falling very nicely at times in the evening... everyone egging it on!

Alas it just doesn't seem to want to keep going and continuing and really building up.

Still, result. I have just over 4cm to report from base and we have another 5-10cm being reported from around the resorts this morning.

Sounds like it was rather windy overnight on mountain and so there will be areas of more and less up there. Should be some nice conditions to find.
