Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 291cm

Although we haven't have any significant amounts of fresh snow for a few days the course conditions are great for this time of year. Looking up at the Kitanomine side of the mountain yesterday, it certainly looked pretty quiet, signifying that many of the domestic visitors that were here for the New Year period have departed.

Last evening we had a brief snow event that didn't last long, but blanketed the upper village with a nice dusting of snow. These dustings at village level may not seem significant, but they will be a few centimetres on the resort itself and help keep the snow conditions fresh.

Right now it is high overcast with no sun breaking through, but some sunlight may come through later in the morning. Visibility is very good, and all lifts and courses are expected to be operating.
