Ocean11 0
That's 'kinmokusei' or 'fragrant olive' to the rest of yous. Still no idea what I'm talking about? You know, that fairly undistinguised bush that breaks out into small, highly fragrant orange flowers in autumn. I first caught a faint whiff of it 2 days ago, and now it's everywhere. I used to think it smelled like cheap toilet freshner, but now I find it exquisite. How one changes, eh? Takara does a very palatable kinmokusei liqueur in their Chinesey selection. I shall have to swallow a bottle of it on my veranda to celebrate the coming of autumn.
slow 0
It is Kinmokusei, isn't it? (I don't know the difference between Ginmokusei and Kinmokusei...) Already blossom there? I can't smell it here in Tokyo yet. Quote: to celebrate the coming of autumn Let's celebrate the getting closer to winter!?
Ocean11 0
You're right, it is kin, not gin. All corrected. It's flowering like crazy here. Every time the wind blew in through my window, I was reminded that 'winter is just around the corner' (as they say on NHK bilingual).

DumbStick 13
When are we going to be able to get smell on the internet?
xxx 2
Never smelt that. There is 1 tree (in late spring) that has a particularly pungent man-kinda-smell that is really disgusting. I don't know what its called.
