The goal for putting people back on the moon is 2020 and then people on Mars in 2030. Have to start somewhere. No time like the present! How can you not be exited about this. nekobi 0 Posted January 20, 2004 Share Posted January 20, 2004 did anybody hear about the speech gore gave recently? he made a good point- "Instead of spending enormous sums of money on an unimaginative and retread effort to make a tiny portion of the Moon habitable for a handful of people, we should focus instead on a massive effort to ensure that the Earth is habitable for future generations." he also says this about bush- "While President Bush likes to project an image of strength and courage, the truth is that in the presence of his large financial contributors he is a moral coward – so weak that he seldom if ever says “No” to them on anything – no matter what the public interest might mandate." mattlucas 0 Posted January 20, 2004 Share Posted January 20, 2004 Maybe so but really what politicion isn't dirty. What is so wrong with wanting to find out what is beyond the stars. To find out we have to make steps. Getting to Mars is one of those steps. Just cause Nasa is trying to jumpstart the space program again doesn't mean that that the US's environmental concerns are going to be forgotten about.
