Since there is an extensive history of "honorable" suicides in Japan, I'm wondering about the general mindset of present day suicide "victims"... Are they doing it because it used to be an honorable option to a losing battle and their losing battle being life?

Kintaro, I think I took a walk through that forest. It is close to mount Fuji and has a strange effect on compasses. A strong magnetic field due to the Gelogy of the place. Didn't come across any hanging salarymen, but there was a disturbing amount of abandoned cars.

My understanding as a gaijin is that quite often suicide is used as a way to solve financial problems. Typically, life insurance is paid for suicide cases \:\(
