spang 0
I'm looking to make a last minute snowboarding trip out from Tokyo next week, but I'm a total noob to Japan's resorts. Does anyone have any pointers on where would be a good place to go? Looking for: 1) Ease of access from Tokyo (it's own shinkansen station, for example). 2) Somewhere to stay (for non-Japanese speakers!) 3) Need to rent snowboard + bindings. 4) Maybe somewhere with some snow... Can anyone help with ideas, or have I left it a bit late...
gamera 0
1) Ease of access from Tokyo (it's own shinkansen station, for example). Gala Yuzawa 2) Somewhere to stay (for non-Japanese speakers!) http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/index.html I sometimes enjoy teasing non-Japanese speakers describing all in kanjis if they don't listen to me or bad behaved. j/k 3) Need to rent snowboard + bindings. You need to give a notice beforehand if your feet are bigger than 31cms or so. Usually not easy to find ones in Japan for that big ones. 4) Maybe somewhere with some snow... http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/index.html Good luck.
3da5snow 0
Although not very big, Karuizawa Prince Hotel in Nagano is also just a 10 minute walk from the shinkansen station. If you're traveling with people who don't wanna go skiing/snowboarding, they can go shopping at the nearby outlet mall while you're on the slopes.
