advantyper 0
Hi all I have a question regarding bullet train/subway to Hakuba From my research it seems that I could get to Hakuba by the following bullet train & subway. Shinjuku station to Tokyo Station: TOkyo station to Nagano via Bullet train. from Nagano station take the Shinonoi line to Matsumoto. Then change lines to the Oito line which heads north into the Hakuba valley. Is this correct? I assumed the Hakuba valley is the same drop off point, if I take the bus shuttle from Nagano station to Hakuba? Is that right? Thanks for your help
TJ OZ 0
If you take the train from Nagano station through Matsumoto the whole trip may take you 2-3 hours. The bus from Nagano to Hakuba is about 50min and costs about 1400yen(check recent posts). If you do go to Matsumoto make sure you visit the Castle. Built in the 15 century and one of the best in Japan. Nagano also has a great temple to visit.
