Sven 0
G'day from an Aussie lad in Tokyo. I'm looking to ski 3 or 4 days from next monday, and I've been told Nagano is the best bet from Tokyo. Problem is, there's just under 4 billion resorts in Nagano, so I was hoping someone here could narrow this list a bit and suggest a place I should go Here are some more details/questions: - I'll need to get equipment/ski pass/travel/accomodation... is a package from a travel agent the best way to go? - I've skied quite a bit in Oz, so anywhere with some int/advanced slopes is all good - I'm happy to stay anywhere... these backpacker or pension places sound cool - Japanese food is the best, no western meals needed - It'd be good to stay somewhere where I can meet other skiers/boarders... as you can guess I haven't skied in Japan before, so someone to go around with would be great. Ok, that seems about it for the moment, any help on this stuff would be fantastic. Cheers, Sven.
tsondaboy 0
Skiers seem to prefer Hakuba Iwatake or Hakuba Tsugaike-kogen. Really popular and at the same time traditional Japanese town is Nozawa onsen.
Fattwins 0
Tsugaike is too easy try happo or 47 but also Nozawa onsen or yuzawa in nigata or naeba kagura area in nigata
Sven 0
Oh yeah... I just booked 2 nights / 3 days at happo. I'll be there this monday, tuesday, wednesday, so if anyone's also there and wants to meet up, just send me a message and I'll give you my number. And thanks for your help, tsonda and fattwins.
