Am a little curious about snow levels. I`ve been watching the snow levels on a couple of resorts in Hakuba and they seem to be vastly different.

For example today Cortina got +70, 47/goryu got +20 and Happo-one got +0. Yesterday 47 got +50 while Happo only got +20 or so. Does such a different amount really hit those mountains or is only down to how and when it`s measured on the slopes?

Most of that sounds like measurement error. To an extent, it can depend on which way the wind is blowing and what have you. It's windy at Happo so a metre can fall there and all blow away from the location of "the stick". That said, I don't think the resorts place much priority on the accuracy of their snow depth info. Granted its a customer service, but it's not really that important, especially not at this stage of the season when everything is open. When the resorts get a big snowfall, its all hands on deck to dig out the lifts and car parks, so the website is probably the last of their concerns.
