simone 0
Hmm. Which should it be! I will be in Japan from this summer, so I am really looking forward to taking up winter sports next season. Looks like loads of fun.

Ocean11 0
simone, I think it's really irresponsible of barok to try to influence you in this way. ... But if you really want to spend months heading timidly down hill with your feet and knees pointing in, clutching a pair of sticks for dear life, and wiping out like a praying mantis squashed on a windshield, then I say, try skiing by all means. It has a long and noble history.
Guest
Go for skiing simone - it's great fun!
miteyak 0
If you're athetically challenged, bit of a malco, you know what I mean, then definitely go for snowboarding. If you're a bit of a goer, fancy something more challenging, skiing couldn't hurt. You a smokin', hot rodding, ripper of a lass with quads of steel? TELEMARKING! MalcolmB 0
If I were a little younger I might start taking up snowboarding now. But I've been skiing for over 20 years now, so I doubt I'll take the board up now.
rach 1
Simple - take up the one that looks most fun for you. Maybe try both for a few days each.
the black adder 0
Miteyak, can you please tell me the meaning of this; Quote: bit of a malco
Ocean11 0
Yeah, miteyak, what are you on about? Speak properly, man! Calling snowboarders 'malcos' indeed...
miteyak 0
I believe I said that if you are a 'malco' go for snowboarding, not snowboarders are 'malcos' malcos - the mal-coordinated Ocean11, don't you mean 'speak proper'
NoFakie 45
Yo MalcolmB, If your knees give up on you, try the board (or telemarking). Simone-san If you're interested in the physical stresses of the relative sports and safety in general, read this http://www.ski-injury.com/intro.htm Boarding and telemarking are mentioned as well, as is ski-jumping for all you budding human sails. In a fifty-year study only one death is attributable to out-jumping the hill! [This message has been edited by NoFakie (edited 20 May 2002).]
