Not sure which to take up, skiing or snowboarding...

Recommended Posts

simone, I think it's really irresponsible of barok to try to influence you in this way.

...

But if you really want to spend months heading timidly down hill with your feet and knees pointing in, clutching a pair of sticks for dear life, and wiping out like a praying mantis squashed on a windshield, then I say, try skiing by all means. It has a long and noble history.

If you're athetically challenged, bit of a malco, you know what I mean, then definitely go for snowboarding. If you're a bit of a goer, fancy something more challenging, skiing couldn't hurt.

You a smokin', hot rodding, ripper of a lass with quads of steel? TELEMARKING!

I believe I said that if you are a 'malco' go for snowboarding, not snowboarders are 'malcos'

malcos - the mal-coordinated

Ocean11, don't you mean 'speak proper'

Yo MalcolmB,

If your knees give up on you, try the board (or telemarking).

If you're interested in the physical stresses of the relative sports and safety in general, read this

http://www.ski-injury.com/intro.htm

Boarding and telemarking are mentioned as well, as is ski-jumping for all you budding human sails. In a fifty-year study only one death is attributable to out-jumping the hill!
