newtoallthis 0
What is powder snow like then and how is it different to other snow?
damian 0
The first time I hit some (that i didn't know was there) I got a real shock. i actually looked down to see what was going on under my board. I crashed shortly after that. I was only on a gently slope with about 1 foot at most of the stuff but it felt like I was gliding on air.
Ocean11 0
Haha, finding yourself heading into powder in complete whiteout conditions and then transferring back to the gelende, all without being able to see your board, is an interesting experience. wooooof, ungh?, dooof, argh!, crcrcrrrr, bing, doooof, ow, shit! Powder is different because it calls for another style of riding. It's much more fluid and akin to being in water.
igloo 3
Well said Ocean11. And wet heavy snow is like being in syrup.
dale#1 1
I found powder really difficult before I got a bit better at the sport. Amazing once you can venture out there tho
