surfarthur 22
One thing that Furano has in its favour is that it is very quiet. However personally I think this is offset by the lack of (legal) off piste terrain. When we were there we were lucky enough to get a decent amount of snow. Not a bad place to base yourself from if you want to visit Kamui, Tomamu etc. though.
blu 3
We didn't like Furano (inbounds). It seemed a good resort for piste skiers. Rusutsu & Kiroro are better choices with more options for inbounds snowboarding.

Mick Rich 78
I've spent a couple of seasons in Furano and love the place but sentiment aside, I'd have to agree with the last few posts and say that the inbounds riding (there's not much in the way of "legal" off-piste) very much depends on decent snowfall and it simply can't compete with the western Hokkaido resorts in that regard.
