leeds_skier 0
Hi Sorry if this is a silly question, but all of my google searches only brought up answers from back around 2008! Will my european bought iphone 4s work in Japan? I cannot imagine why not, but I thought i'd better ask before i arrive. If all is ok, are there any good deals for pay as you go mini sim's that inc. data? Cheers
igloo 3
Interesting question. In Japan the iPhone is locked into SoftBank and au, don't know how that would affect the one you bring in. Anyone?
leeds_skier 0
Normally wherever I travel, I just buy a local Sim stick it in my phone, and off I go. However, some countries use different frequencies or mobile technologies. for instance in the US there are two versions of the iphone. a GSM and a CDMA version. so technically my GSM iphone should work on any GSM network around the world, but not on a CDMA network. so i suppose my question really should have been are the mobile networks in japan GSM or CDMA? (forgive me if I have completely got it wrong, but that is my understanding of how it all works )
