I think I'd be up for this - weekends would be good for me, but I guess I'd need a lift from either Ibaraki or the Tokyo area - I dont drive and there's no easy transport option from where I live.

Yes, the bigger, and older (1948), one is Inawashiro.

Inawashiro is a fair bit better than Inawashiro resort. But Inawashiro Resort is pretty cheap I think.

Never been to any so no real preference on my side would just go with that you guys thought was good.

Seems like Alts is the clear winner, with February a slight winner over January.

MO, sorry mate but I'm having to bow out. A mate of mines is driving his car up to Yuzawa area and asked if I wanna tag along......I can sway him to hit the Minamiuonuma resorts and so can use my SJ-won ticket......sorry

he's taking his kid and I'm just ponying along as a petrol sharer!! I don't think it'd be that much longer up to Alts but he knows the road to Yuzawa/Minamiuonuma so is happier driving up there....soz
