7-11 2
Hey I was wondering is it normal for there to be a few drops of water coming down from the outside unit of my air conditioner when it is turned on? Not much just drops. Don't know if always has or if it is to be expected, just not noticed it before... Cheers
soubriquet 0
Yes, they always produce water. "Humidity control Refrigeration air conditioning equipment usually reduces the humidity of the air processed by the system. The relatively cold (below the dewpoint) evaporator coil condenses water vapor from the processed air (much like an ice-cold drink will condense water on the outside of a glass), sending the water to a drain and removing water vapor from the cooled space and lowering the relative humidity. Since humans perspire to provide natural cooling by the evaporation of perspiration from the skin, drier air (up to a point) improves the comfort provided." Wiki.
7-11 2
Ah! Good, I'm glad. I didn't want it to be broken. Funny I had never noticed that before. Thanks!
Ocean11 0
It's just another sign of the end of the world. Both you and the air conditioner might be able to stave it off by getting circumcised.
Goosie 0
It's normal. But you should get a faily large bucket to collect the water. It's good for watering plants or showering.
snowdude 44
All air conditioners give off water, same with cars, you will notice small puddles of water under a car that has been standing straight after the air conditioner has been on.
