Madarao Questions?

Staying at Myoko (Akakura Onsen) for 10 nights & keen to do a day trip or two to Madarao.

Questions: 1/Is there a local bus or transfer from Myoko town and if not, any idea how much for a taxi (four of us)?

2/Any body been there?

3/ How do you pronounce "Madarao"?

Not sure about buses but I would guess Myoko places might take you.

 

If they can get that official bus going the Madarao <> Myoko leg it will be good. News on that soon I think.

 

Decent place, it's in my town, check the Forums a few people have posted in the last few seasons.

 

They do free for kids so make sure you go weekday.

Liked it when I went a couple seasons back, place was empty. That was before they were letting kids go free though. Is the Shuttle bus only between Nozawa and Madarao then?

Good point about weekends - they get pretty busy from what I can tell as kids are free. Weekdays though after some fresh snow - I plan to go this coming season.

Just asked my friend today he seems confident that the Myoko > Madarao bus will be a go.
