gerard 6
Any one know any good ones? Heading up by myself and hope to hook up with other skiers for some off-piste ripping.

gerard 6
That's kind of how it seems. I'd like to try Nozawa for a change but feel uncomfortable about going off-piste by myself so the alternative is a backpackers in Haks.
gerard 6
Seems like a good business opportunity for someone there, actually.
iiyamadude 6
Why does it have to be backpackers? Why not try one of the cheaper places like Lodge Nagano or Alpine which are run by foreigners? Nozawa is not known for el-cheapo accommodation and there are limitations to what can be opened there in the village. Personally I wouldn't want the place to change (in that respect). gerard 6
Sure, it's not about the money really. I just want to find a friendly place where it's easy to hook up with other like-minded skiers. Backpacker places usually fit that bill. I checked the accommodation on SJ and didn't see any obvious candidates but I'm definitely open to recommendations from first hand experience.

Jynxx 4
Aren't there any SKIER'S BED (that's what bunks are called in Japan at ski resorts. Often found in MinShuku, Pensions, Lodges) in Nozawa?
