samwillis5 0
I've had a trawl through the posts and cant find anything similar but apologies in advance if this is a double up. We are hiring a van for our 3 weeks in niseko and intend to ski Kiroro and Rusutsu as well as Niseko. We also want to have a look around Kutchan and perhaps a little farther afield on day trips. Does anyone know where we might be able to pick up a road map or atlas of the area with at least some english translations?
kaiser soce 0
The people you are hiring the van from will be able to hook you up with a mapple (street directory) The people I hire from have all the usual haunts and routes to them highlighted. There are road numbers to navigate by....its a piece of cake!
Tubby Beaver 209
won't your car have GPS? You could get the people from the hotel to programme in your destination before you go
Go Native 70
The Mapple directory is excellent but doesn't have english at all. Most main roads are numbered though which makes them easy enough to follow on the map. If you can read some Hiragana it would help as most of the town names have Hiragana as well as the Kanji. JA2340 16
And most of the major road signs have English. Kutchan map in eigo is here Took a bit of time, but google, as always, is your friend! Oh, and the tourist people will almost certainly have english maps - we found english maps of almost anywhere we wanted to go.
